Nicas And Wild Climbers.
Wanting your children to get something more out of their climbing? Our NICAS or Wild Climbers sessions could be the one for you! We are registered and experienced at delivering Nicas and Wild Climbers up to Level 3. Our coaches deliver fun, game based sessions, teaching safety and the fundamental skills to help progress your child’s climbing.
From certificates to stickers, there’s plenty of ways for your children to be rewarded for their effort. Just buy the appropriate book from reception and speak to a member of staff to get started!
NICAS £13.00 per 1 hour session, Saturday’s 12:30-1:30
WILD CLIMBERS £10.75 per session, 10:30 -11:15 and 11:30 - 12:15

Description: NICAS is a nationally recognised programme that introduces climbing through structured lessons focusing on movement skills, technique, and problem-solving tailored for bouldering. Our classes cater to climbers aged 7 and above who are registered on the NICAS scheme, providing them with the opportunity to enhance their bouldering skills and progress to higher levels.

Our wild climbers sessions offers a playful introduction to climbing through the NICAS accredited scheme, designed specifically for young children. Participants will enhance their climbing skills and techniques while engaging in fun games and activities that foster both physical development and a love for adventure. Please use the links below to book onto the appropriate class based on the age your child will be when the attend the class.
FUNdamentals @ Friction
FUNdamentals @ Friction, provides a vibrant and supportive environment for children to explore climbing, catering to both beginners and those with experience. In each 60-minute session, our enthusiastic coaches guide participants through fun warm-up activities and engaging technique drills, fostering a love for climbing while ensuring a memorable experience for every child.
Friction Development Class
The Development Class is specifically crafted for climbers aged 7+, emphasising individual progression and the attainment of personal goals tailored to each participant's unique abilities. Under the guidance of our experienced coaches at Friction, these sessions not only aim to enhance climbing skills but also foster a supportive environment that encourages young climbers to build confidence and resilience. As climbers progress, they will be well-prepared for advancement to our academy or competition team, ensuring a smooth transition into more challenging climbing experiences. Saturdays at 2:30-4pm, £14 per session *Includes shoe hire*.

Friction Academy
Our academy is dedicated to advancing young climbers as they prepare to compete both individually and as part of a team at regional and national levels. Our exceptional coaching team tailors the programme to meet each climber's unique goals and needs, fostering an environment where personal growth and achievement are paramount. While we prioritise competition, our core mission is to ensure that every climber understands that the true winners are those who embrace the joy of the journey and have the most FUN along the way!
